How do suppository's work?

Like but pills? I am just wondering....Also,If I put vodka up my but would I get really drunk? without that taste?

Suppositories contain the drug enclosed in a material that liquefies or softens with body temperature, and the drug diffuses out of the vehicle and is able to be absorbed by the blood vessel-rich wall of the r****m.  Usually the drug is quite lipophilic in order to be able to cross the cell membranes forming the rectal wall.  Once in the blood, it is distributed to its targets.
