  1. oh they stop the blood. if you need to know how to insert one here is the link.

    http://www.tampax.co.uk/period-how-to-us...

    Here it is.

  2. Don't sweat it but just to tell you if you don't change your tampon every few hrs, you can die... not 2 scare you or anything...

  3. Tampons are God's gift to women. :)

They allow you to be as comfortable as you would be without your period (well, aside from the bloating and cramps). You don't have to worry about what color clothes you are wearing, style, you can go swimming...ect.

All packages have instructions inside the box on how to insert and how long to wear. Some tampons come with an applicator (less messy) and some don't (you have to be comfortable with inserting your finger into your v****a for this one).

Depending on your flow you can wear them up to 8 hours. Also, buy the lowest absorbency you need. If you are a light flow person don't buy the super absorbency.

    ***EDIT

The answerer below me is referring to Toxic Shock Syndrome (TSS) which is an extreme risk of using a tampon. That is the reason why you want to change it after no more then 8 hours. You can die from TSS but that is in extreme cases. That is also why you want to use the lowest possible absorbency, so you are forced to change your tampon more often. Don't worry about that person's answer.

  4. Basically it soaks up the blood before it can actually come out.. you can wear it up to 8 hours pull it out and put in a new one.  Much less messy and more comfortable then pads.

  5. i just started using them and im 15 also. the 1st thing u need to get r the tampons. u should use playtex gental glide regular or tampax pearl regular with the plastic applicator. the more wet ur are down there the easier and less painful it will be. u can either put ur leg up on the toilet, sit on the toilet with ur legs spread, or sit on the bathroom floor in "labor postion". put ur hands on the applicator like if ur giving urself a shot. push the wider part of the applicator in till ur fingers touch ur skin. then u use ur thumb to push the skinny part of applicator that holds the string till its in all the way. if its uncomfortable move it around with your fingers. if u have a heavier flow then u should wear a tampon and a pad together. if its lighter, than yes it'll stop the blood. remember to take it out after 2-8 hours. good luck! mark me as best!

  6. yeah. its pretty much like sticking a plug up there and using it to catch the blood. It's a lot less messy. I started using them when I was 12, but if you aren't comfortable then don't use them yet. I'd try the light absorbency with a pad first, and you will probably need to use a couple until you get in the drift of how to use em. Definetly get the ones with the plastic applicator though first, and NEVER flush em down the toilet!! The tampon itself catches the blood, and absorbs it into the core of the tampon, and some have a skirtish thing that lets it absorb extra blood when you have a heavy flow. Good luck!

  7. they go internally as opposed to outside and catch blood in same way. read the leaflet inside its all explained or ask you mum/big sis/older friend

  8. Tampons are used to absorb menstrual flow, not stop it.  Check out this website.
