if my family moves to Denmark from the US.

My husband is Romanian and I am a US citizen.

Do I have to pay taxes to the US after this tax year if I move this year?(an ongoing thing I mean, like year after year even though I don't live in the US?)

I think I know how the Danish taxes work but if you know exactly how they work for an expat from the US and Romania that would be good to include too.

Thank you so much.

  1. I get an exemption from my taxes in the US each year - provided I don't earn more than $80K USD while living in Denmark.

I still file a return, just with claiming the exemption - I do this through an accountant that specializes in international tax law.

    EDIT:

I don't report my husband's income as he is not a US citizen either.  It just means I file Married: filing separately.
