Advertising is one of the major TV production get their income. Another way is to get sponsors for their TV program, example news narrator's clothes, notebook etc.. Also they rent their program to other country. Many ways they can do it.

network tv relies almost exclusivly on advertising. cable channels receive subcription revenues.

think about all the fuss made over the super bowl ads-it's because billion o people see them, so they cahrge a ton of money for them.
