  1. Civic Currency. Made through photo shop on computers plus inked designs printed on recycled paper. Outside of The Gov use of The First Amendment to stop Telemarketers.

  2. Get involved.

  3. for a start we should make an amendment that prohibits politicians from being full time employees by doing so they would not be intitled to superior health care and high retirement pay.  we should restrict the use of government travel and private cars or suvs.  reduce the amount of staff that each has.   make it mandatory to uphold the constitution to the letter  deny them junkets (we have a state department)make it illegal to have earmarks and when one of them is caught doing illegal things that they be given the stricktest form of punishment and not sent to some country club prison.    these are just starters   mr  doodles

  4. I will follow you. :)

  5. i think the problem is part apathy and part ignorance --each contributing to the other.  until people care enough about government to become fully informed about the issues impacting the country we will continue responding to sound bites that trivialize the issues and polarize the people, eventually causing massive disenchantment and disengagement with the political process. as a prior answer implies, the problem is not with the lobbyists themselves, but the overwhelming use of money and power to influence the votes of the people sworn to represent the interests of the people.  if corporate interests are able to wine and dine, make big dollar campaign contributions, and fatten the wallets of elected representatives, many if not all our elected officials are pawns of the moneyed interests and totally unresponsive to their constituents.  i think the campaign finance reform law did not go far enough.  and it does not appear to me that the law is vigorously enforced.  but it must begin by each of us citizens taking the time and trouble to educate ourselves and stay vigilant in our efforts to hold our Representatives accountable.  not an easy task unless we all participate.  take the pledge today!!!!

  6. Nancy Pelosi needs to be impeached.

  7.    It is so hard when there are so many persuations..This nation is so divided that no one will ever be able to put it back together again. Divided we fall, and we are in for a great fall. This nation was founded on Christianity , and now has become a Babel of nations......The so called great melting pot.....

  8. Repeal the 17th amendment. The direct election of Senators was the best gift to lobbying ever. Once elected, Senators need answer to no one in their state for the next 5 1/2 years until it's time to get elected again.

BTW, I hate to tell you but chances are good that you work for a Fat Cat who created your job. If you have the ambition and work ethic you can take his job or create your own company and be it's Fat Cat. Whiners are Losers.

  9. Get the people to VOTE. Let us demand  Term Limits as well.

  10. Almost all answers seem to complain but complain against whom? Complain about.. you, the voters?! You live in a democracy (not a quite direct one) and you elect your govenment. You elected your president G. Bush and the congress people. Is it because you do not agree with what they are doing in your name that you say American people lost the government? Vote the next election! But if the majority does not elect your candidate, that is democracy, isn't it?

  11. VOTE

  12. I think the problem is simply that not enough of us really -- I mean REALLY -- pay attention to this issue. We're all on the same page, but we don't keep it in focus. We get distracted by other things, so the candidates all deal with the issues we define as important, but they never define this issue as important.

Now they will talk about how important it is, but talk is cheap. The only way to remedy this situation is for enough American voters to keep this issue firmly in focus and brush aside other concerns and insist on this.  And I'm afraid you'll have to have a lot of voter power, because the lobbyiests will not go down without a fight. We're talking their livihoods, their kids' college tuition money here, don't forget.

  13. one way! TERM LIMITS!

  14. Well, believe it or not, lobbyists and big businesses are people and are composed of people.  I know, it's hard to fathom.  Therefore, they are doing it for people and since they are people, they are doing it by people.

    Seems pretty logical for me.
