Here in America, we pronounce it "Hyooj".

Do the English pronounce it "Yooj"?

    Ath-nath-wabs-nasm

    Although that might just be a peculiarity of my particular regional dialect.

    But cockneys and people with 'estuary english' accent like in Kent (where I'm from) and Essex may drop the h and pronounce it more 'ooj'

  11. I cahn't, excuse me, can't recall hearing a Brit use that word.  But I have heard them enunciate 'vahst' and even 'lahge'.  

    I knew what they meant.
