How do the FMX guys feel about the 4 stroke rising up?

i can't say for motorcycles but on 4 wheelers i like the 4 stroke better for FMX. the 2 stroke is lighter and that is a plus and the 2 stroke will panic Rev better because of the instant rpm they will create. if you are good then you won't have to panic rev it very often. that being said i will still take a 4 stroke over a 2 stroke.

Well FMX guys pretty much all use 250 2 strokes and will probably continue to,although the 4 stroke has proven itself to work well in the high jump competition. As far as us motocross guys, it's kind of old news now. We have all been racing 4 strokes for a few years now. I spent the majority of my career on 2 strokes and I can honestly say the modern 4 strokes are the best thing that has ever happened to motocross. The bikes are just incredible. Racing the south east region where we have lots of hard pack red clay, the 4 stroke hooks up infinitely better than the 2 strokes. Also with the torque they produce those 60 foot doubles right out of a corner are a breeze now.
