I know that homosexuality was common among the samurai, but in western culture[greek] it was also accepted, so things obviously change. Japan being a conservative country, I'm not sure how they look at homosexuality.

  2. Hello!

Homosexuality is not exactly a "trend" in Japan. Apparently it is quite frowned upon.

However, in places such as (and most famously) Shinjuku, there are g*y clubs and large g*y communities. They tend to live in "groups" i suppose.

My friend form Japan seems pretty accepting of them when we were taking her through a place in the city and we told her how many g**s and prostitutes hang out in the area. She seemed fine, but she lived in America for two years and adopted a lot of American customs.

I really can't give you an exact answer. For as a country as a whole, you could generalise that they are all against homosexuality, but on personal levels many people would be accepting. It's the same in all countries. I live in Australia, mainly homosexuality is not honoured or anything and there is a lot of homophobia, but on personal levels with people, many people are accepting. Maybe more people are accepting in Australia than in Japan, but you get my point. And England is seen as a very accepting country towards g**s, but there are many peopel there who hate g**s.

Read the wikipedia article on homosexuality in japan, might interest you! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Homosexuali...

    Hope this helps,
