How do the benefits of getting rid of Soot compare to dealing with carbon dioxide?

Soot causes all the surfaces it settles on to become darker.  This lowers the Albedo (reflectivity) and causes the earth to quickly absorb more solar energy.  CO2 on the other hand is a nessecery part of the Atmosphere, without it all the plants would die.

Soot is a particle while carbon dioxide is a gas.  Both can be harmful.  However, while soot is harmful all the time, CO2 can be benifical and is vital to the planet at the right concentrations.

Therefore get rid of the soot.
