  1. If some wants to be a vegetarian that is fine, being raised in the on a farm I am alway amused by the way people become squeamish when they find out were the ham or chicken or beef comes from yet have no problem with fishing.

The fact is the majority of us are meat eaters the animals we eat are for the most part raised to be slaughtered, also for the most part this is done quickly and cleanly. The most popular method is called the "bolt gun" the name is fairly obvious and involves a simple steel bolt no one wants to scare the animals not out of kindness but safety as a large scared cow is quite dangerous.

What happens to these animals is a lot less traumatic than say a pride of lions eating them alive. The emotional vids that groups like PETA use are the 1 in a thousand case were something went wrong, most abattoir workers are fast and efficient at their jobs.

  2. At least in the U.S. they may be shot or hit with a spring-loaded rod between the eyes. There are special rounds manufactured for the purpose. Kosher killing, originally designed to be the most humane, requires that the animal's throat be slit with a single stroke. Nowadays, the animal is stunned first or this wouldn't be humane at all.

  3. Don't ask or you'll never eat meat again.

think of the worst  and double it

  4. They are tortured beyond imagination from the first gasp of air they take.  Many egg laying chickens are placed in unsanitary cages where they have no room to roam around.  Sometimes they use various methods to put their body into shock.  For example, some farms will deprive chickens of water in order to put them under stress and as a result they will lay more eggs.  Even though this is not a "slaughterhouse", you can only imagine what they do to animals in there (debeaking, electric rods, slicing their throat  and skinning them while they are still alive and conscious).

  5. There is cruelty in the industry.

    The raising and the killing.

Sheep and calves are herded into a small space, cattle are grabbed by one leg hung upside down shot with a stun gun and then still hanging and squirming, on the conveyer belt sent to have their throats cut.

Before they get there, they are filled with fear, on their way to the confined space they cry out and the other's hear them, and they reply, and generally it's all shockingly INHUMANE.

But the industry normalises it and makes out the animals are stupid and therfore it doesn't matter if they hurt. A case of seeing the animal as an object of human ownership and control. They have no rights or self determination.

The stories much worse than this actualey.

If your really interested ask the Animal Liberation Lobbiests.

They have all the facts on the treatment of all the animals. The films they show are truely horrendious taken secretly inside abattoirs.

But be prepared to feel sick with grief.

The relationship with the animals humans eat is gastly.

    Sorry to tell you that.

    How old are you?

It's good to understand the sacrifices made by the those whose lives we are involved in.

  6. It depends on the regulations in the country you are from - And the animal that they are slaughtering.
