How do the lenses of eyeglasses function differently from the properly functioning lenses of eyes?

  1. properly functioning eyes recieves the light as it is, and then reflects it onto the back of the eye so the brain can recieve it, but with glasses, they bend the light in an out of shape way, so that when the eye recieves the light, it is bent to be able to recive the image clearly


  2. The main difference I see, is the presence or lack of accommodation.  

    The lens of the eye is a transparent, biconvex structure, that focuses and refracts light onto the retina.  Accommodation is the process in which the lens changes shape to adjust the focal distance of the eye so that it can focus on objects both near and far.  Accommodation can be compared to adjusting the focus of a camera lens.

    Eyeglasses do not accommodate in this sense, as they do not change shape when the object of interest is near vs far.
