How do the practice GRE test that can be downloaded from ETS, and the actual GRE compare in difficulty?

For those who have taken the GRE and the ETS practice test you can download from their site, how do the difficulties compare?

I found the difficulty on the actual exam to be a bit harder, or so it seemed.  In fact, my scores were quite similar to the many practice tests I took.  

My best advice is this:

1) Buy Kaplan's Guide and go through it.

2) Don't panic during the test.  I felt that I was doing horrible during the Quantitative section and wound up with a good score.
