How do the seasons work in France?

I am going to Paris next July and I would like to know what season it will be so I can prepare myself.

Officially this is summer and therefore you should be able to expect clear skies, sunny weather and warm temperatures.

The reality is sometimes a little different though, these days.  This month in Northern France, Belgium and the Netherlands can be as mentioned about, but equally you can find dull days or rainy weather. So it is smart to bring layers of clothing (and a rain jacket) to allow you to cope with both eventualities

They work the same as in the U.S. They are about the same latitude as the US/Canadian border so the season's there aren't the opposite, like they are south of the equator.
