  1. The person with the earlier Tee time (who has played the most holes) should be listed first.

  2. The more higher ranked is listed first. Thats why when ever Tiger Woods is tied, he is always on top.

  3. PGA Scoring has the player that has tied players listed by number of completed holes, most holes first.

TV scoring lists Tiger first among tied competetors, then Mickelson, then anyone the network deems important, then lesser known players.

  4. It is by their standing.  Whoever is most known by America is listed first.

  5. On TV, they dont use any rule other than to list Tiger first at the score he has.  They will also bump Mickelson and other 'big' names to the head of the class to keep viewers sucked in.

The PGA uses chronological listing;  who ever has played the most holes will be listed first if two are tied.   If they've both played the same number of holes and are tied, they will go alphabetically.

  6. The first person to post that score is listed first on the official leader board.

I've noticed when watching TV, that they list equal scores by the most popular or higher ranked player, instead of the official method.  (Tiger would be listed before Phil, even if they had the same score.)

  7. For all tournaments , those who finish with identical scores are listed in their order of finish. Those who started first and posted  a score duplicated or triplicated later on would be listed first. It is only the media who fouls things up by posting the better known names first.
