The coin is tossed. One team wins the toss and elects to bat or bowl. When the two batsman walk to the crease how is it decided who the bowler will bowl to first and from what end of the pitch?

  1. Cric luver is wrong. Only the fielding team can decide which end to bowl from. The batsmen have to agree with the fielding team.

  2. The bowling team has the right to choose from which end they want to ball.

  3. ......................!!!!

  4. as an opener myself, i do believe what usually happens is the bowler decides which end he will open from and then we adjust according to who wants to face first.

i say usually cos in my side we started something at the start of the season and it just stuck and is now a tradition i suppose! we try to get out there just before the fielding side, we both pick an end, then wait for the fielding side to decide which end they want to bowl from, or if we dont beat them to the middle, we'll at least pick the end that we want to go to, either way it has solved any arguments about whos going to face first!

  5. the team which has one the toss can choose the end from which they want to bat/bowl......

  6. The opening bowler chooses which end he bowls from and the batsmen decide between themselves who wants to face him first

  7. they decide by seeing the positon of umpires
