I have been reading about tracing species of wildlife out in the wilderness and they attach radio collars to some and then do reports on their condition ever so ofteb. I notice sometimes it says it was deceased..\

Do they find out and investigate when the Radio Signal remains stationary or something???????

  1. The collars are designed to drop off at some point, but if they remain stationary or stop producing a signal the researchers will go out in the field in search of the collar. They don't always find them, usually they do.  If the animal is still wearing the collar, they can still generate a lot of information, even if it wasn't exactly the kind of data they were looking for.

  2. They will usually try to find the reason behind the animals death.  The collars are designed to fall off after a period of time and they do go out and collect them.  The wildlife trackers will usually keep track of the animal throughout the entire time it has the color... they will usually go out monthly or so to check to see where the animal is, and keep track of it so that they can see where and what it does.
