How do they do all this, how do they setup such a huge operation to evacuate in such a short notice?

Its amazing as I flip channels watching the preparation and the way its setup. My hat is off to all the people involved. Catrina taught everyone a lesson and we learned of that mistake, Lets hope Gustav goes by with less harm and damage and the people return safe to their homes.

Nearly all major metro areas in hurricane prone areas have an evacuation plan that's been in place for years.  There are even evacuation routes that have road signs to tell you where to go.

Yes fortunately many learned from Katrina and Rita....although I am still waiting for friends from New Orleans to arrive and getting a bit worried as they left last night...but on the whole things seem a lot smoother than last time.
