Yes I have asked this question before and was obviously not taken seriously. Answers included KY jelly, JML vaccuum bags and tardis type answers. Very funny and thanks but I really want to know facts and figures about how this is done. How many are on each level? Do the ramps move up and down. What is the actual headroom from the base of the boat (inbetween the two hulls) up to the ceiling below the cabin area? Serious answers only this time, seriously.

  1. Ferries are designed to carry cars, pure and simple. I don't know the specifics about these particular ones, but they are designed to do the job.

Why don't you take a trip on one of them, and look very carefully at how it is done? That way you will know.

    Regards,

    Dan

  2. good question. i was on the chichimean on the weekend and was amazed how many cars fit on. theres rows inside where the cars are.... thats all i know.

  3. I made the KY Jelly suggestion.

Here is an excerpt from the builders web site:

Vehicles are accommodated in the main vehicle garage deck and two upper decks located forward. This enables the Condor Express‘ drive-around loading and discharge arrangement. These three levels provide capacity for up to 200 cars. The aft part of the deck is strengthened to accommodate up to four coaches in the place of 24 cars.
