here are some examples watermelon and grapes, you can buy both with or without seeds.

so another question is also what are the different steps taken to make a fruit seedless as opposed to seeded?

  1. With watermelons they are usually a triploid hybrid. They are genetically incompatible ( just enough ) that they cannot produce viable seeds. They do have undeveloped seeds. Not sure about grapes but suspect the same process. I know some plants are the result of a naturally occurring mutation, Navel Oranges for example.

  2. HMM, you know I have actually always wondered that....

  3. The seedless fruits of which you are speaking about are actually hybrid fruits, which for convenience are genetically modified to be made seedless.
