At the risk of sounding stupid, I am genuinely curious to know how they get the seeds out of seedless watermelons. Is it genetically altered or what?

  1. Firstly, you're NOT sounding stupid. It's a very reasonable question. The seeds are there but they take SOOOOOOOOOOOO long to mature that the part we normally eat is inedible. It gets pulpy and dry as the seeds do mature. The melons are specifically kept for seed.

  2. They use sterile plants that wont produce seeds.
