As posted how do they put the two halfs together? I have one they are putting together and the bottom is bolted and the top has a 2 inch difference from the bottom. I dont think they bolted it on top. What is the proper method?

  1. The top of mine is bolted.  They used lag bolts all along the ridge beam.  It has to be fastened somehow.  There may be a gap as they are setting it up but it will all come together and I say it will be bolted before they put the ridge cap on the roof.  Every mobile has an instruction manual that give details of how it is supposed to be set up.  This is the same instructions that the building inspector will use and should be the same one the installer uses.  I had a building inspector that didn't like my installer so he spent alot of time watching him.  He made sure that all the instructions were followed.    Ask the installer for the installation manual so that you can keep an eye on things.  Call your local building inspector and have him come out during installation.  If you think it is not right don't accecpt it.

  2. If it is not completed yet I wouldn't let them leave until they fix it. They are supposed to bolt it on top. Sometimes they don't bolt it but they are supposed to.

I had a friend who had a company set hers up with a two inch difference on top as well, and then she had to sue them because it made for leaks. She didn't win the case because she let them leave her premises without fixing it. Letting them leave is like agreeing they did it right.

Then she had to pay to have someone come out and re level it, set it up straight and bolt the top together.

    Hope this helps.
