How do they make the crust on shop bread soft?

  1. I keep mine sealed in a bread bag or plastic wrap.  Keeps the loaves nice & soft!  :)  (the same goes for dinner rolls)


  2. I just brush melted butter on the top and it keeps it very moist.

  3. when u take it out of the oven/read maker take a brush and brush it with water and wrap it in tea towel.

  4. You could try a different recipe (one with less sugar, or more oil) or what I do is with the bread I make, I really love the taste but the crust is hard I just brush some melted butter (or margarine) over the crust while it's still hot and let it cool as usual.  It softens it right up.
