Even with all the shuffling and reshuffling to figure out who has and hasn't been picked, the jerseys all have the right name, in the right color. How?

  1. Some teams plan ahead and actually make the jerseys up a head of time- for example, the first few picks are pretty set. Other teams use velcro nameplates, but a large number of jerseys have no name at all.

  2. iron on's takes only a sec.==by the time the team pick and by the time they announce it

  3. With the exceptiopn of 3 jerseys this evening, they were all velcro.  I was one of the lucky saps who got to hand out the velcro names tonight.

They haven't sewn a nameplate on in years.............

  4. It's called Velcro

  5. i should probably put here that i think they do those kind of stick on printing things. it's fun when they don't have the right jersey ready for the player chosen by a team and then they have to do it right onsight and on the spot.

i've seen the velcro and i've seen the bad stitching back when, and i think they should move away from that. i would do the sticky interface printing because it's cleaner and the names on the jersey's have cleaner lines now.

also i didn't want to add this part but i know it happens. some of the teams make original jersey's for their picks because they actually know who they're going to be picking beforehand and if they're lucky enough their pick doesn't get stolen by another team so that the jersey becomes a waste. the number one pick always gets an original jersey.

and like the coyotes today they had an original jersey for viktor tikhonov because they knew they'd pick him. they ranked him high and most teams were banking on him for the 2nd/3rd round.

  6. They have all the names made of the possible 1st round picks, then after being on the clock and making their selection they thinly sew on the name plate.

I think I remember once or twice seeing the nameplate sort of slip because it was just sewn too fast and carelessly. I guess more recently they have used Velcro
