How do they measure final time in olympic swimming? Is the wall pressure sensitive to touch?

  1. Yes, the walls in any big swimming competition have touch sensors.


  2. Timing the events is all done electronically.  When they hit the button to start the event the clock starts and there is a pad on the wall which stops the clock when the swimmer touches it.
