How do they pick the rising star award is it similar to the Brownlow with the umpires voting?

If so how does the last nominee picked for the year gain votes

  1. I'm pretty sure that they have a committee who pick the Rising Star based on their form throughout the year.


  2. A panel vote on it. Last year it was voted on by the AA selection panel including Adrian Anderson, Andrew Demetriou, Rod Austin, Gerard Healy, Mark Bickley, Robert Walls, Chris Mainwaring, Kevin Sheehan (RS selector only) and that idiot KB who didn't give Griffen a vote when he got all 4's and 5's from the rest of the panel when he lost to Delideo! The panel give 5-4-3-2-1. I'm guessing the panel and system would be the same this year, other than Mainwaring.

  4. A commitee picks one of the 22 nominees from the season. Whoever the "believe" has played the best, consistenly over the course of the year will win it.
