Question:

How do they put fake nails on at the salon step by step?

I'm going here in a couple days to get my nails and possibly my toe nails done, and I'm going to get fake nails put on. I know it's a big commitment and I'll have to keep going back to get them re-done once I've started but I was wondering, how exactly do they do it? and about how much do you think it will cost? I've never had them done before and I don't really know what to say when I go in. and also I'd like to know are they durable? I do dishes every night at my house and I was wondering if the hot water every night would possibly make them come off easier, or get worn-out looking faster. I start school here in exactly a week and I want them to still look really good and not dull so when do you think I should get them done? Thanks for all the helpp(:

  1. I just got some put on about 2 weeks ago.

First they take any polish off your nails,

    then they shape them,

    then file your whole nail,

    glue the white tip on,

fill in the rest of the nail with gel like stuff,

clip the nail down to a length you like,

    and paint them.

It takes about an hour and it cost anywhere from $20-$40. They are fairly durable but it hurts really bad if you bump them. Doing dishes may make the polish come off but you can always repaint them. I suggest that you get them done about a week or so before school so you can get used to them. It took me awhile to be able to do simple stuff and i still can't open soda cans. Also make sure you use non-acetone products as those with acetone will remove the acrylic and leave you without nails.

  2. try this site.. http://www.MyFashionLink.com . read the article about nail

  3. This was the process for me...I haven't gotten them done in a while but this is what i remember.

    1. The cleaned my natural nails.. cut them, push back the cuticles, take my nail polish that i originally had on.

    2. I picked out the nails i wanted and how long i wanted them. Then the glued them on and cut it down to the length i wanted.

    3. Trim and file them down to make it all smooth and even.

    4. Then put liquid acrylic (i think it's called) and the powder and form the actual nail.

    5. Dry then file again and then paint.

First, find a place that you want to go to. Some places, you don't even need an appointment. Just go in and ask for acrylic nails done or a full set of nails. For me it cost about $20 but it depends on where you go and where you are.. it can cost from like $12- $50. they are pretty durable. Unless ur playing sports and contact stuff, dishes shouldn't be a problem. It hurts to take them off.
