  1. The other guy is right. But at a pro shop they also analyse your shaft for optimum flexline. It's the line that the flex of the shaft is most consistent. Normally marked by the manufaturer by the logo on the shaft, the line is perpendicular to the center of the logo. That's why you see a lot of shafts either logo-up or logo-down. Some are sideways and that's also why.

  2. This is a very complex subject.

First you must remove the old shaft. This is done by using a small torch(steel shafts) or a heat gun for gafihte. Heat the hosel to break the epoxy bond and pull out the shaft. There are special tools designed for this purpose.Be careful because too much heat can disfigure or even ruin the clubhead. Clean the clubhead and insert a properly trimmed new shaft.Trimming instructions are differant for a lot of shafts so be sure you read and understand them. Failure to do so might produce the wrong swingweight.Clean the butt end of the shaft, apply two sided grip tape, apply solvent and slid on the grip.Allow the epoxy to cure and go hit your new club. This only scratches the surfice. It is a fun hobby and if you get serious you might earn enough to pay your green fees.

  3. Leave this to professional clubmaker.   It's not just glue-ing a shaft to the head.  You have to consider the length, the swing weight and the tip diameter.   Plus proper tip trimming...  which is cutting the tip length according to the type of club.  An iron has

different tip trimming than a wood.
