I noticed some tied scores in trap and rifle where one shooter gets a gold and the other a silver with identical points.

  1. In target shooting , there is smaller "X" ring within the highest scoring 10 ring on the target.

In rifle or pistol shooting , competitors can all shoot perfect 10s , but in that case the number of  "X" shots is what counts

eg. 100/10X beats 100/9X every time.

Not entirely sure of rules these days , but in the event of perfect (all X )scores measuring devices might be used .

Not sure about olympic rules for clays.

Generally , you either break em  or you dont.

Whether a bird is "smoked " or small chips fly off it is scored as  a hit.

May be some judging  if one shooter destroys  more birds than tickles them.

Been a long time , but thems the basics.
