How do they take your Braces off

how do they take your braces off ,how long does it take, does it hurt

my dentist actually took one of my bracets off w/o my ortho's permission. And it didn't hurt it just felt like smothing scrppnig against your tooth.

First they remove the bands, then the wires. Then they use a tool that grabs the brackets off your teeth-not exactly the funnest part-then they use another tool to scrap the cement bonding off your teeth-also not fun. It actually doesn't take that long, at most 20 minutes. When they pull the brackets off your teeth, it hurts a little, and when they scrap the bonding off your teeth it hurts very little. Then your teeth feel slimy :]

I think it pretty much depends on the person and the orthodontist you go to. My boyfriend said when he got his off it didn't hurt at all and took like 10 minutes. However, when I got mine off a few months ago it took about an hour and a half and it hurt a little. It bled some for me when they took the bands off the back teeth. But overall, when its all finished...you will love the feeling. I promise, you can't stop l*****g your teeth afterwards :D  Good luck!

It isn't like getting them on. The braces all pop off pretty fast, but then the glue has to be scraped off your teeth (not fun.) It doesn't take too long. It can be uncomfortable, but it doesn't hurt, and when they're off you feel amazing.
