  1. most coasters are actually build by a handful of companies that specialize in coaster building. although the park can have the ride modified slightly, it has already been tested to be safe. there are three ways that they determine the ride to be safe.

1st is with numbers. based on speed, sharpness of curves, etc. they can calculate the amount of g-forces applied to the body. and they know what the maximum a person can handle is. they can make adjustment at this point.

2nd is they build a prototype to see if what they figured out on paper is the same result they will get on the scale product. they calculate everything with crash test dummies that will record g-forces, sudden stops, stress put on the body, etc. and again, based on those numbers they can  adjust the ride.

3rd is a final test with people. at this point the ride is safe but if they find that too many people get sick (as in tossing their cookies) or find the ride too uncomfortable, then they may tone it down. a ride is only as good as what the majority think.

this is kind of a simplified version but it think it covers the major aspects of making sure a ride is safe.

  2. They have Dolls ( Dummies ) But you never know if anything might go wrong. A few weeks ago I went on a ride called the cyclone. and the next day i saw on the news that a kid got hurt riding it.

  3. they test any roller coaster three months before is open to the public, and after that they take precautions on every aspect, but unfortunately accidents happen all the time, so be careful and good luck riding anything.

  4. a lot of planning to make sure your head or arms if outstretched cant touch supports/track.

and those little dummies that are filled up with water to simulate a train full of fat people. =]

  5. When they first make a new roller coaster, they use dummies in case it has a problem. If they find it is ok, they will put there own people into the roller coaster because they wouldn't have to pay for 20 people that were on the ride and had injuries. Also, they have test runs all the time, so theres nothing to worry about.

  6. crash test dummies

  7. First they test the roller coaster to see if it is alright and see if any parts are shaky or lose then if it is, they will go and fix that part then ride it again and see if it is still lose then they open it up and let you experience it your self if you've liked it you would  go back on, if you didn't you would get off and get on another ride.

  8. I applied for the test but they said I was the wrong dummy for the test

  9. Dummies. And I think they get people to test if the g-force is too much.

  10. The owners are ususally the first live people to ride.  You can interview them at the local hospital.
