  1. By adding up the population sof each country. When you're talking about billions it doesn't matter if you are a few out.


  2. by averages.  No one really knows.  By the time the count is done, the number is already obsolete!

    They assume a lot.  And especially the rate of births per minute. The number can be off by millions !
