  1. No different to any other quarter. The clock counts down from 20 minutes and stops every time there is a goal, behind, out of bounds, ball up, etc. etc. When the clock reaches 0 the siren goes. Just the same as every other quarter.


  2. Time-on in every quarter is worked out the same way.

    1) When the boundary umpires deliver the ball back to the field umpire after a goal is scored.

    2) When the field umpire signals time-on during play. This can be when play is stopped to allow an injured or bleeding player to leave the field, when 50 metres is awarded, when the ball goes into the crowd, melees, when the umpire is lining a player up for a shot at goal and anything else that the umpire decides.

    A good average per quarter is usually about 5 minutes.

    The umpire signals time-on to the timekeepers by blowing his whistle & raising one arm in the air.

  3. usually a quarter goes for about 30 mins counting the clock stopping but in the last quarter if u want to know count the seconds from when the clock stops and starts again and add it up
