Question:

How do those inflatable movie screens for backyard use actually work?

I've seen them on Wal-mart's website, and with a huge backyard and family, it seems like it would be fun to host a "movie night" a few times during the summer. What I can't understand is how the heck these things work (I haven't purchased one yet, but am wondering if it's even worth it if you have to jump through hoops to get the other things necessary to show a movie on these screens). I'm just wondering how they work. Do you have to buy a special kind of projector for them? And does this mean you have to find reels of the movie you want to watch, or do projectors run on DVDs and VHS, too?

  1. You'll need a projector, dvd player, and amp or receiver for sound. It is a very large screen so you'll need a bright projector (figure on $1000 or more for that alone)

  2. you need to buy a projector as well its just a screen for the projector and the projector is going to caust at least a 5 hundred, and the modern day projectors have a dvd player built in, you wont have to find reels for the movie you want to watch, there is that wierd shaped tv connection called coaxial so you can watch tv there  is an rca input for video games vhs players computers and cable boxes!! god luck email me for more help dordiscott@mac.com

  3. You will need the projector - best if you get one with a DVD player built in - and some outdoor speakers.  The screen you are looking at on Wal-Mart's website is the best bet (don't pay 3000.00 when you can get the same thing for 200.00).

Here is a link to show you how easy it is to put up one of these screens.

They are great for kids parties and summer fun.
