  1. Most of their income is from tips, in most places.  They work hard for their money.

If you tie up a table for a long time, increase the tip.

If you have had unusual requests, increase the tip.

Lousy service-leave a buck. Great service 20%+any extra for time, extra service, etc. Average, not special service, but pleasant at least 15%. JUst the way I do it. Don;t know if it is protocol or not.

  2. 1) 10-percent minimum

    2) 15-percent or more based on level of service and personality.

  3. %...15

  4. I go based on their service and how long Im at the table but I usually tip very well if the waiter/waitress is very nice and fun.

  5. Being a former waitress I always go by the service he or she gives. I do not think percentage is always accurate if the service was bad. My main complaint in this time era is when my husband & I go in and they say what can I get you guys, hello I am a woman not  a guy. Okay I know it is just slang but I do not like it , or if I have to wait for my silverware to be brought to me after my coffee has been placed in front of me. The waitresses today need a lesson in manners.

  6. he he. tip her over. whut is there to it? jk

  7. I always tip. I usually give 15% if the wait staff was good or just ok....more if the service was above and beyond.  If I get comped b/c there was a problem with my food>>>>I include the cost of my food into the total on our check and tip according to the cost of what our dinner check would have been.

  8. I always tip my waitress and I tip according to their preformance, I've been to known to tip to much at times but a good waitress is well worth it. I've never walked out and not tipped, even if the service was bad I still leave a tip, just a small one though.

  9. im bad because i was waitress and single mom so i depended on the money as do most single moms.

    I tip 20 percent...

  10. Usually 20%.  If the service was poor, 15%.  If horrible, 10% or less.  If it was GREAT, I will leave a dollar or 2 on top of the 20%.

  11. I always do 15% of the bill, so if it was 1 dollar, (ya right) It'd be 15 cents. You can also do it on her performance, like if she dumps coffee on you, give her a 5% tip i quess.

    Hope this helps! :]

  12. I tip 20% of the bill. If my server did an exceptional job, I tip even more. When they make a meal special for me, I reward that. I've been to many places where the service was terrible and the menu prices were high.

  13. I usually tip 20%.

  14. Straight up 20%, because most waitresses get paid below minium wage (legally). However, if service is marginal, or seemingly uninterested, it's 15%, but never lower, unless it's really, truly horrible (like the person dumps food in your lap or forgets about your table for half an hour).  If the food quality is bad, that would be something to speak with a manager about, versus blaming a server.
