How do torrents work?

I'm downloading sheet music from online, but they are all in torrents... so i was just wondering how do you get torrents to work and look like something?

  1. It downloads different bits of the file data from different computers across the internet that are connected. A seed is someone with the full file. A leecher is someone who doesn't have the full file. People still upload bits of files if they are a leecher.

  3. you have to have a torrent application

    go to azuerus.com and dl the program. after you install it, you can download the sheet music just fine.

    it works kind of like a zip file, how sometimes you need to have winrar to run it/ open it

  4. udk i wouldnt suggest using them they suck and they take a long time to download use limewire or frostwire

  5. you need to get a bittorrent client to open the torrent file.  There is a good discussion of clients here (they are free)
