In general ozone is made by electrons from and electrical discharge shattering oxygen molecules, by very energetic UV light doing the same thing, by less energetic light releasing an oxygen atom from an unstable NOx configuration, or by a chemical process (some phosphorous compopunds, for example). Adding a single oxygen atom to an oxygen molecule makes ozone.

When you operate a blender, or a small size drill, that rare, acid smell you get, That´s ozone.
