How do trees begin to grow?

Question

I know it takes years for a tree to be fully grown.

But my question is, Once it begins growing out of the ground, would it start as a little bark, or it would look like a regular plant with leaves?

it would look like any other plant with leaves.  it also depends on what kind of tree it is.  pine trees always look like little pine trees, when growing  some trees may grow from seeds, but it will take many years to mature. trees also grow from of shoots, but will not have fruit bearing ability like the main tree.
