  1. Since Y/A was not intended for debate, I find this question to be rather silly.

  2. The trolls like to come and ruffle feathers, that's all. Demand women stay in the kitchen or men should be arrested for being jealous or anything absurd and people will just FLOCK...

  3. Don't you mean "censor?"

(Hey, but it's your right!  ;-)

    Mostly through censorious reporting

    (assuming most reporting isn't reflexively censorious);

    Also ad hominems and insults.

    I've been called "***" "*****"

    and, of course, "b--i--t--c--h"

(Yahoo seems to not only censor ***** but also the modified b-i-t-c-h)

Sometimes I wish they had to say it to my face.

    ;-)

  4. Spewing non-factional claims they made up in their own little heads or collaborated with other trolls on.

  5. i think its by makin fun of people when they have real questions. they dont know why, theyre just stupid. just leave em alone theyll go away

  6. responding to challenges with thought inhibiting cliches and rhetoric eg. "you're just threatened", "woman-hater" etc

being unavailable for comment when a well put together question with good links and research is posted.

    answering with a put down

don't like an idea? give it a thumb down, out of sight, out of mind.

    reporting

too many to mention, it never changes around here.

  7. Censuring is a process by which a formal reprimand is issued to an individual by an authoritative body.  I would guess reporting questions and answers would be the equivalent of censuring.  I have gotten violation notices (formal reprimands) from Y!A (an authoritative body) for many answers I have given, even when no rules of conduct were broken.

I might say the use of ad hominem attacks and thumbs down could be other methods , but I don't consider the people who use these to be an "authority" in any  way.     lol

All 3 methods do have a tendency to stifle debate.

  8. When you first appear on here, the trolls scrutinize your profile and if you are a man they immediately block you.

This way you are not able to see ‘their’ Questions, yet they can see yours….

Often they are top contributors with high points

They then troll all day and night finding anything 'said by men' to delete, and report, they just need to say its not Legal, etc

And as their Q&A is out of reach to you, you are not able to do the same

They have their own contacts who are able to see their Q’s and so award each other’s the best answers

As they get higher it is significantly harder to have them remove

A machine handles all of the violations, which respond to trigger words, remember it is only a machine, rare is it seen by human eyes!
