How do turn my old video to a DVD?????

i have a really old Sony video camera

and it uses tapes to record...

how do i turn it into a DVD??

If you have an analog (VHS) camcorder…

You need an analog converter, either internal card or external such as the dazzle. It's very easy to use and come with good software. You would hook your analog VHS camera or VCR to the analog converter, the dazzle and then hook the dazzle to your PC. The dazzle cost around 70.00 , but worth the money if you have a lot of VHS to tapes to convert.

Yes, the dvd authoring application above may be used to 'burn' the video file already in the PC.

But first, the video file has to be a result of an upload from the vcam ('old', so assumed to be analog).

The principle: a video cannot be uploaded to a PC if it is not digital, therefore, a conversion process from analog to digital must take place.

If the camcorder is analog (VHS, VHS-C or Hi8),  a video capture device to do the conversion will be needed to act as the digitizer in-between vcam and PC. Some would use  'Dazzle', others TV tuner with video capture capability.

In case 'old' would mean digital-8, the video here is already digital and as such, the video stream is captured via firewire thru a video capture or video editing application in the PC:
