How do two types of weathering work together to break rock?

  1. Ok best guess - Wind and rain.

    Wind creates current.  Rain builds up and creates lakes.  Together they bash on rocks to make sand/mud/dirt, eventually the grand canyon.


  2. The action of plants growing roots, and of ice opening the crack a bit more for the roots to go further, then the crack fills with water and freezes.

  3. Well, if a rock is in a river, the water is causing chemical weathering and the rock hitting other rocks, causing it to fracture and crumble are examples of mechanical weathering.

  4. Rain, and moving water can weather rock.

    Water getting into cracks, expanding and freezing will crack rocks and break them.
