after u go talk to the man and he gives u the gift how do u use it to get speacial events

Mystery Gift is a thing for GameBoy Color. The small black area on the GBC is a transmitter that can be linked with another GBC. When two people use the Gift they both get some item or something. Don't really remember.

Ramjet, please stop giving false answers. Mystery Gift is not just on the GameBoy.

Anyway, to use your Mystery Gift on diamond or pearl version, you must go to a pokemon event in real life. As of now, there is no other way.
