How do u choose a best answer and what r some uncommon mythical creatures?

i need some mythical creatures for a book report and i dont want to use common ones

Uncommon mythical creatures?

The Manticore- Lion body, scorpion ail, human head with multiple rows of teeth and huge bat wings.

Gnolls- anthropomorphic (humanish bipedal) dogs that normally live underground.

Kobolds- Shape-shifting fae that most often appear as homely little men and occasionally live in mining caves.

Wyverns- Smaller bipedal dragons that aren't very intelligent.

Skylla- A sea monster with six heads on incredibly long necks, and who is ringed around the waist by dog's heads.

and the Pookas- Shape-shifting horses that have a tendency to drown anyone who tries to ride them.

There are tons more, you might want to try out your local library tomorrow and see if you can find a mythological beastiary.

Two of my favourites are the Nargun and the Bunyip.  Both are beings from the Australian Aboriginal dreamings.

As for how I choose a best answer, it's the one that I believe is most accurate.  Unless (of course), the question was REALLY stupid.  In which case, it is the funniest response.
