How do u clean yellow converse?

its getting to the point where its turing brownish

how can u clean them...i mean i heard that you can actually put them in the washer...can u really do this.....without damaging them

When we were kids we used Salt wet shoes and smash salt into the whole shoe cover completely and place in sun into dry the just brush off should brighten them
