  1. you have to remove the old light first. Then mount the mounting hardware that came with the fan/light. Then attach the wires, same colors go together. hope that helps

  2. As far as wiring?White to white, green to green, and black to the other two wires.

  3. u first have to take out the old light. then u attach the new ceiling fan/light  to the blue electric box that is in the wall.

  4. Actually, no matter what, you should change the box out.  You don't want to risk having that fan falling in the middle of the night while your sleeping.  That would kind of hurt.  Just do it right.  There are all kinds of options.  Some require patch work, others require getting up into the attic, which is probably the best way.  At least while your up in the attic you could fish another romex cable from your fan to your switch so that you can have separate switches for your fan and light.

  5. All 3 answers before me are correct in their own right but first flip breaker to off position or at least turn the electric off at the switch. Remove the old lite fixture and follow instructions in the ceiling fan box, the instructions are easy and it will all come togather once you remove that old lite fixture. But please shut off the power sparky!

  6. As always it is not as easy as it seems. The biggest problem is making sure that the ceiling box will support the weight of the fan. If you want to try this remove the light and wiggle the box to see if it is firmly attached to the ceiling joists. If it has wiggle or if it is blue plastic you should consider getting the right style box for it and hassling through the install. They make a mount that will install through the hole in the ceiling that will support the fan. Or you can get into the attic an install it from above. Spend a little time looking at the potential mounts at a home improvement store. The other posts give yu a sense of the rest of the install. Hope this helps.
