I've never done it, but EA has a Sims 2 site and there are tutorials with pictures on it.  Here's a link to one tutorial:

Oh, the first two links I gave to you I got from that search page.  But there were so many tutorials, that I decided to just give you the link to the page.

If you have never registered any of your games though, you may need to register at least one of them.  I don't think you can actually get on to the site without registering at least one Sims 2 game.

When you do register a game, it asks you to make a screen name or maybe they call it a user name and a password.  That will be what you type when you go there and log in.
