  1. All you need to do is read the soap box or container, or usually look in the lids of your washer. Whites go with whites only, but some are to be cleaned in warm or cold, not hot. also many clothing items have tags in the collar that describe washing instructions.be careful of bleach, it can ruin colors.

  2. You are TOO funny!  Okay, help is on the way!  I do mine like this:  Whites are NEVER washed with ANY other color, EVER!  I USUALLY wash whites in hot water (sometimes in cold if rayon, or if shrinking may be an issue!), with MAYBE some bleach, MAYBE some Oxi-Clean, MAYBE some vinegar, but never any mixed with each other!  Light colors, like light pink, light blue, beige, pale green, yellows and so on go in a load together.  I wash these in warm or cold if possible!  Dark colors, dark blues, dark greens, blacks, browns and so on, get their own load too!  I wash darks on COLD.  I hang dark clothes on the line inside out so the sun doesn't fade them, light colors, same way, and whites, whatever way, I just hang them neatly.  Sometimes I need to dry them in the dryer, not a problem, I have a moisture sensor on mine and dry them to barely dry and while I am folding they are now completely dry without being overly dried and torched and shrunk!  For my whites, I might add a few drops of Mrs. Stewarts Blueing to add a boost to the brightness of the whites.  I rarely use fabric softeners, but when I do, I tend to use them on stuff I really want to be soft, maybe a childs blanket, a quilt, certain towels.  Since I have set up my new laundry room with my new front loading washer and dryer and put in a new clothesline, I am becoming a laundry Goddess.  There is something terribly addicting (to me anyways....just shows how sick I am!) about setting things out on the line, folding, and just the smell of good clean laundry.  I believe I crossed a line, but am still enjoying my new laundry highs!  LOL!  One thing I have noticed with my new found care of laundry, there is so far, no stain I have not been able to undo, my whites are brilliant white, and my linens are unbelievably wonderful to fall into after an hour on the line and then onto my bed.  Nothing feels as delicious as cuddling up in white linen sheets that have been washed clean and sun dried.  There is just NOTHING else that compares!  With the kiddos, if they have brought their stuff downstairs and sorted it PROPERLY in the laundry sorter (WHITES, LIGHTS, COLORS) I wash, hang and fold their stuff and set it on the stairs for them to take and put away.  If they just throw it in the basket and I have to sort, I wash, dry and throw it back in the basket and they can fold and put it away.  Funny how I am getting sorted laundry and it only took 2 months for them to catch on!  LOL!  Hope this helps you out!  Good luck!  If I were near you, I'd come and help you do it!

  3. Sort your clothes between lights and darks.  As for hanging up or using the dryer it depends on personal preferences.  If you use the dryer some items will shrink but it will dry things faster.  Good luck!!!

  4. I take mine to the dry cleaners ( they have bundle service for 60 cent a pound and they wash dry press and fold/hang it for me ) saves me time

  5. Aww I didn't know how to at first either.  Just keep all like colors together, you can put light yellow, pinks, etc in with whites as long as you aren't using bleach and will be fine (I do it all the time).  Then do your jeans, darks, whatever else you have separately.  I always wash my stuff in cold water, b/c it prevents clothes from fading.  As for drying check the labels on the garments, some items tell you not to use in the dryer

  6. When I do the laundry I sort the clothes, by the darks, which is mostly jeans, pants, and shorts.along with  some shirts that won't bleed.

then i sort the whites, towels, undergarments, things like that.

I put the whites in a single loader machine which is about $1.00,then the other clothes,in a triple loader which is about $2.25 for me.

I use a cup of bleach, with the whites, and a half cup of clorox for the colors, along with the liquid laundry soap.I used the powder soap, and i found out that the liquid was alot better.

I used 3 dryers one for the whites, and the towles, another for the pants ,shorts, only, and the other for the other stuff.

I spend about $3.oo on the dryers, but they get really dry.

I do my laundry at the laundry mat, where I can wash my conforter,in the big washers.

  7. omg you're my twin! You separate the clothes by bright/light/dark/white. Read the labels in the clothes to make sure you wash them at the right temperature. Most of the time whites are washed hot and darks are washed cold. Turn on the machine at the right temp, add the detergent and then the clothes. When they're done, you dry. Dryer is faster and easier, but some stuff is too dainty for the dryer (like nighties or nicer tops) and it's safer to hang those to dry.
