How do u do this?????

I just started algebra and need a little help pz :)

1. h-3=2

2. m-8=12

3. p-5=15

4. 20=y -8

5. k-0.5=2.3

6. w-1/2=5/8

In order to solve these you need to make sure that the letter in each equation gets left on it's own.

Remember what you do to one side you have to do to the other.

Just make sure the letter is on it's own so that equation ends up reading:

a = 1-1 instead of, 1=1+a, see how letter gets left on own? do that for all.

well you should be doing it yourself.. so i will give u the first answer.

basically to figure it out you have to swap the numbers around a bit so you can get the answer. You need to find out H so you would put that on it's own and move the -3 over. So it becomes h=2-3   BUT when you move a number over, you have to change the sign so a - becomes + and + becomes -  .  

so you are left with  h = 2+3   so work that out =)

h-3+3=2+3   h=5

m-8+8=12+8  m=20

p-5+5=15+5   p=20

20=y-8  20+8=y-8+8   y=28

k-0.5+0.5=2.3+0.5   k=2.8

w-1/2=5/8    use 2 as lcd  w-4/8+4/8=5/8+4/8  w=9/8
