  1. By having a square clubface at impact.  Think of the clubface as having eyes.  The clubface is looking at the ball at address.  On the backswing, take it back low and slow.  The clubface has to see the ball in the backswing as long as possible.   On the downswing, bring the club back on the same plane as you took it back and the clubface will see the ball again.  Keep your right elbow close to your body on the downswing if you're right handed(left handed if you're left handed).  Stay relaxed and don't grip the club so tightly.

  2. Take the club face away from the ball on a path which is parallel with your target line.  Then bring the club face back, squarely, to the ball.  Simple as that.

  3. tell me to

  4. By spending more time on the range than on Yahoo! Answers.

  5. Easier to ask but very difficult to deliver. If Tiger Woods were able to drive straight balls ALL the time he would have overtaken Jack Niklaus' all-time record (18) of the number of Majors won much earlier. It is easier said than done. The theories are all there for you to pick (even here in YA's), but then could you convert those theories into practice each time you drive a golf ball?

  6. On a scale of 1-10. I grip the club a 6. When I started playing golf I was under the impression that the harder I swung the club the farther the ball would go. WRONG. I started watching the older members where I play and noticed that they were hitting the ball the same distance as me and straight. They were barely swing the club! So I started slowing my swing WAY down. With my old swing being a 10, I now swing at a 6 or a 7. As I learned to get better contact I could add more power to my swing. Now I can drive it about 225 straight as a arrow. Everyone says well that's not very far. Well personally I would rather use a short iron out of the fairway. Rather than shoot from the rough , sand or take a drop because I drove it 275 but it landed in the water.

  7. This is a very good question. The answer is impossible. The straight ball flight is the hardest golf shot in the world. That's why pro try to either hit a draw ball or a high fade ball flight. This is because the nature of a golf swing usually will promote a slight draw ball flight.

But, recent study says that the high fade ball go further because the ball stays longer in the air. I don't really care. I still prefer a slight draw ball flight.

  8. practice and golf lessons

  9. Simple question deserves a simple answer.....with a perfect swing.   Good luck on that.....Even the pros who hit litterally hundreds of balls per day can't hit a straight drive on a consistent basis.   Lessons and a lot of practice will get you straighter though.
