Only rewritable DVD's can be erased and reused

you will have to buy another disc cos you can only record once on + R or -R discs. I you want to reuse discs then you need + or - RW discs.

You need DVD RW for what you want to do. Once you got anything on the R discs, thats it.

Theyre un-usable again. Total waste of money unless youre going to keep what you initially put on them

Another thing with them, you cant even delete them before you get rid of them... like the shredder would do to your paperwork; which I think is a bit off!!!

It's not possible. DVD-R means DVD "recordable." Once something is recorded, it cannot be removed. What you want is a DVD-RW, or DVD "rewritable."
