  1. For the USA, there are a series of steps to take.

    1. You must be one of the best in your state, at least.

    2. You must attend a national meet and get a time standard that qualifies you to go to the Olympic Trials.

    3. At the trials, you will compete against many other swimmers in your particular event. It will be narrowed down to the top 16, then the last heat will be the top 8 from the last race.

    4. To make the Olympic team, you must place top 2 in the Final heat, and make a certain time. This is to make sure that you're not just the fastest, you really are Olympic material.

To even go to a national meet, there are years and years of very hard work, a perfect diet, and barely any free time.

  2. Alright well it depends on what sport you play but in the United States there is almost always Olympic Trials. To get the trials you have to qualify either with a time or how you placed and certain competitions. Then you either have to place in the top two or three and sometimes a few others are selected after that

  3. well first you gotta be like supperrr good.

then contact the International Olympic Committee for further details.

  4. For swimming, in the U.S.A, You go to national competitions and get a time in your event that qualifies you for the Olympic trials.

Then in the U.S. Olympic trials, you race to get the fastest time to become part of the U.S. Olympic team.

  5. First you gotta master all 4 strokes or at least specialize in one stroke that makes you a stand-out. in order to do that requires a lot of heart, dedication, hard-work, and motivation.

Now when you start becoming good you'll make the Junior olympic cuts, sectional cuts, jr. national cuts, national cuts, and eventually you'll have an olympic trials time.

In the olympic trials 2 swimmers will be chosen from each event, the first and second place finishers.

simple enough? :D good luck and train hard!

  6. buy tickets...us mere mortals can only watch, but if you are become serious about a sport it takes talent, support, hours of dedications and no life.  I really just depends on what you want to do....
